The output voltage of systems using the conventional thyristor

This paper details, the two thyristor rectifiers that are connected serially by using the triple-winding transformer, and the new topology that is designed which is capable of reducing the ripple of the DC link generated. in the case of the conventional systems, the DC link ripple is reduced by connecting a thyristor rectifier in series. The proposed topology is a module of the Full-bridge type switching on the outside. This is a technique to reduce the ripple by inserting in series with the DC output. Typically, in the case of an LCC HVDC system, this method is utilized in order to reduce the ripple of the system and the DC link, when a number of filters are used. HVDC controllers are configured to the firing angle control and the DC voltage control. Then, the dynamic characteristics are verified in accordance with the normal state and the load fluctuation using PSCAD.
