Simulation of PEV service admission control (PEVSAC) model for smart grid using MATLAB

The future vision of electrifying transportation systems motivated the attention toward Plug-in Electric Vehicles (PEVs) as an economic and environment-friendly mean of transportation. PEVs are expected to highly penetrate within the next few years. However, this will impose significant challenges on the current power grid system due to the extra load required to accommodate the perceived charging demands. Uncontrolled PEVs charging will introduce new load-peak times and increase the risk of overloading and power failure. In this paper, a PEV service admission control (PEVSAC) model for regulating PEVs charging is discussed and evaluated via simulation.
