2D photonic crystal filter with dewdrop-petal structure

In the paper a planar circular model (20-by-20 μm in size) of a band-pass multiplexing filter, based on 2D photonic crystal with original “dewdrop-petal” inner structure has been considered. The frequency selectivity of this filter is due to its geometry, built on the base of nature processing physical system - a flower with dewdrops on its petals. The filter has been PC-simulated on TE electromagnetic waves in a band of wavelengths between 2 and 12 μm.
