Development of standards for undersea distributed architectures

This report reviews and characterizes UDNs and describes areas in which standards are being used, where they exist or can be adapted, and other areas in which development and acceptance of standards would contribute to the implementation of UDN for applications of interest. This assessment concludes that the areas in which standards are most lacking is in subsystem and element interfaces, particularly interfaces with Unmanned Undersea Vehicles (UUVs) and recommended practices for application to UDN components and subsystems.
