Degree-of-polarization model incorporating an environmental disturbance factor

We consider radar systems with simultaneous dual-polarization reception capability. A new polarized radar model that includes the influence of the environmental disturbance factor on the received signal is established. It is demonstrated that the degree of polarization of the received signal is related to not only the signal-to-noise ratio but also to the electromagnetic waves' polarization state and to the environmental disturbance coefficient. The validity of the proposed model is demonstrated using real collected radar data.
