Overview of some numerical techniques for the analysis of the electromagnetic scattering by wind turbines

An overview of some different numerical solvers such us PO (Physical Optics) GTD (Geometrical Theory of Diffraction), UTD (Uniform Theory of Diffraction), MoM (Method of Moments), MLFMM (Multilevel Fast Multipole Method), etc, for the analysis of the electromagnetic scattering by wind turbines will be presented. The applications of these methods to different cases of wind turbines will be considered presenting what method shall be used depending of the case, what are the limitations of each method, the computer resources required, the accuracy achievable, etc. A discussion of the different errors that can be found with these solvers including the meshing steps and methods to use to avoid these errors will be included.
