Is Free Will Truly Free?

This chapter examines how much of people's behavior is really a result of choice and free will. It also explores how much of it is a result of their own deterministic, relatively inflexible, internal, neurological programming. The chapter then deals with personal behavioral subroutines (PBSRs), which are nothing more than the neurological programs, the neurological software, that dictate how one can respond to certain stimuli. It also identifies a few PBSRs that most engineers have had installed into their neurology by the time they leave college. The author calls them as limiting belief. By understanding a person's personal subroutines one can more effectively deal with that person. Finally, the chapter presents the ways in which each subroutine functions and how it can be changed to function in a very different, much more positive and constructive way.
