Acceleration-type cardiographic sensor using amorphous core

The authors have developed an acceleration-type cardiographic sensor using amorphous core for continuous monitoring of arrhythmia suggestive of sudden death. It was cleared that the most suitable exciting frequency to get maximum detecting voltage was 160 kHz, and then the active power was 50 mW. It showed that the cardiographic sensor can drive over 17 days using two lithium AA cells. The electrocardiographic waveform was measured by this cardiographic sensor which was banded on the forearm. R waves and T waves were able to be discriminated by the cardiographic sensor. The R-R interval was also coincident with the electrocardiographic waveform. The present cardiographic sensor is suggested to be usable as a sensor for arrhythmia monitoring.
