Use of commercial cellular 4G LTE in the tactical environment

The use of commercially available 4G LTE in Army tactical environments presents both opportunities and challenges. Military utilization of 4G LTE leverages substantial investments by industry to develop and mature the technology and its standards. This paper identifies challenges in adapting 4G LTE Technology in tactical environments with demanding security and robustness requirements and discusses steps to overcome them.
