A synonym mapping method of operators in mathematical formula retrieval

The semantic matching of mathematical formulas is an important function in a mathematical expression retrieval system. And the synonym mapping of operators is the important way to realize the semantic matching of mathematical formulas. Through Collecting, analyzing and concluding the synonymous relations among mathematical operators, mapping rules were established to realize the operator synonym mapping on the basis of the one-to-many mapping relations that exist in algebraic operation, angle-radian conversion operation, set operation, logical operation, matrix operation, vector operation, and so on. The contrast experiment of mathematical expression retrieval with and without synonym mapping module shows that the operator synonym mapping can improve these semantic processing capability of mathematical expression retrieval system in some extent.
