Switching control applied to damping small-signal oscillations in multimachine electric power systems

Maintain stability for small signal oscillations in electric power systems have been a case of several studies in Control area. When designing controllers to cushion these effects must be considered that system operating conditions vary over time, considering among its factors: the operating point change due to loads variations, mechanical power changes and irregularities in measurement systems. This paper will address the stability of multimachine electrical power systems using Switching Control Techniques. Bearing in mind operating point changes and possible faults in sensors feedback signals such as guidelines for generating switching between different families of multiobjective controllers that can stabilize the power system.
