Control of guided spontaneous emission by one and two-dimensional photonic bandgap structures

Summary form only given. We have constructed in-plane photonic structures fabricated in AlGaAs-based guiding heterostructures. We show in-plane transmission/reflection/diffraction measurement of two-dimensional photonic band gap (PBG) structures consisting of a triangular array of holes.
