A gain-scheduled H/sub /spl infin// control law for a tailless aircraft

Linear parameter varying (LPV) control theory is used to design a gain-scheduled H/sub /spl infin// flight control law for a tailless fighter aircraft. To compensate for the reduced directional stability, the aircraft under consideration has a large number of multi-axis control effectors. A previous gain-scheduled control law design for this tailless aircraft used simple LPV models that allow for straight-forward computation of the controller gains but may sacrifice performance of the resulting control law. This paper describes a new design that incorporates a higher fidelity LPV model in the design process.
