Experimental benchmarking of unstructured transmission line modelling (UTLM) method for simulations of explicitly meshed wiring

In this paper, the unstructured transmission line modelling (UTLM) method is applied to solve the canonical wire coupling problem by explicitly meshing wires. The near-end crosstalk of two single-core copper wires above a ground plane is evaluated using both UTLM method and experiment. The results obtained show very good agreement, which validates the viability of direct-wire modelling in the UTLM method.
