Simulation-Based Capacity Planning and Scheduling with Autosched

The function of 'Capacity Planning' is the process of determining in detail how much tooling, personnel, and equipment resources are required to accomplish specified product demand. The function of 'Scheduling' is the time-sequenced allocation of resources such as machines, personnel, tools, and component materials to perform a collection of tasks to manufacture products. Traditional methods of Capacity Planning and Scheduling have used infinite capacity and static time calculation approaches to these functions. The result of the past methods are inaccurate and non-representative answers to extremely important questions. This paper introduces AutoSched as a tool for planning and scheduling personnel to help answer the questions of Capacity Planning and Scheduling.
