Research on the effects of EAPs on turnover intentions

EAP is one of the most effective prevention mechanisms to solve the staffs' life and health problems in work, but also can effectively help managers to reduce employees' turnover intention. We are engaged in the empirical study based on enterprise employees in this paper. The results show: (1) EAPs play a negative role on turnover intention; (2) work-family conflict plays a positive role on turnover intention, and plays a mediating role between employee assistance programs and turnover intention; (3) EAPs play a negative role on work-family conflict, in which perceived organizational support can also play a role of mediated-moderator. At the end of the paper we propose some advice about improving EAPs, supplying organizational support and balancing the relations of work and family.
