Start-stop process control strategy of diesel fuel generators in thermal power plants

This study adopted empirical rules to explore the diesel generator engine's start/stop process control strategy. The mechatronics system's control authorities of a thermal power plant are divided into three levels, where the overriding control of the site disposal level (manual/automatic select switch) has the highest priority of the system. The software program lock function has the second priority for operating all system devices. The onsite human-machine interface controller and remote engine control room HMI/central Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition system have the third priority for operating all system devices. Various levels of operation use EICU to render the control system functions compatible with the SCADA system, via the Remote Control System interface. The control of the SCADA system becomes a unified and coordinated entity. The automation level of the diesel engine is upgraded, and the safety and reliability of the diesel generator's operation are enhanced.
