Current induced domain wall motion in perpendicularly magnetized ultrathin (Co70Fe30/Pd) n nanowires

The multilayer films with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) have been intensively studied since their potential application for driving domain walls (DWs) motion with low current density. Ultrathin Co(Fe)/Pd multilayers with Co(Fe) and Pd sublayers at monatomic layered thicknesses are the potential candidates because of their strong PMA, small film thickness, narrow DW width, low saturation magnetization and high thermal stability, all of which are important to reduce the critical current density and increase the stability for long-time usage

. However, there are only few studies for the perpendicularly magnetized ultrathin multilayers applied in the DW motion. In this paper, we demonstrate the DWs motion in ultrathin Co
₇₀
Fe
₃₀
/Pd multilayers induced by a very low current density. Meanwhile the non-adiabatic torque effect on the DW velocity is investigated and a high non-adiabatic coefficient is evidenced.
