Description of a Class of Surfaces for 3D Recognition:

This paper concerns the description of an important class of surfaces called the developable surface. A new geometrical description, fine of curvature description (LCD), is proposed in which all items are associated with a line of curvature on the represented surface. LCD is simple in form and can be used for developable surface description, recognition and reconstruction. A procedure for finding a line of curvature of a surface is presented and illustrated by computer simulation examples.
