Comparison of Scheduling Algorithms for Efficient Parallel Processing of Red-Time Linear Control Systems

This research compares five scheduling algorithms in an attempt to define the most efficient allocation algorithm for parallel implementation. In a highly coupled linear control system (LCS) application the HLFET (Highest Levels First with Estimated Times) was found to be the most optimal algorithm using 10 processing elements with 90% efficiency, speed-up ratio of 9 and minimum execution time of 24 time units.
