SOI based photonic interconnection for multi-dimensional multiplexed system

An on-chip polarization insensitive interconnection is proposed and fabricated based on SOI platform. The proposed circuit is experimentally demonstrated in fiber-optic communication system utilizing wavelength, polarization and mode multiplexing techniques with power penalty of 3.2dB.
