Direct torque control of open-end-winding induction motor using matrix converter

This paper describes the direct torque and flux control strategy for an induction motor with open-end stator winding fed by a matrix converter at each end of its terminal. Use of the matrix converters instead of the conventional power converters eliminates the DC-link in the AC-DC-AC converter. Triggering the matrix converter using the rotating space vectors eliminates the common mode voltage at the machine terminals. The input-side power factor is also controlled by using the rotating vectors. The simulation is carried out in Simulink
