Spatial data management in an integrated software engineering environment

The paper describes the design and implementation of a repository at the core of an integrated spatial information system (SIS) development environment. One of its major functions is the management of integrity constraints which include the non-standard spatial integrity constraints analogous to business rules in a mainstream database environment.
