On improving the accuracy of T1 mapping of the human brain

The focus of the presented research is to improve the ac-curacy in T1 mapping of the human brain using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Quantitative T1 imaging is essen-tial for the non-invasive detection and characterization of brain edema. Existing techniques are either very slow or provide inadequate accuracy. A method for improving the accuracy of the Inversion Recovery Fast Spin Echo MRI sequence is investigated.
