A transition model for the reflection coefficient in surface scattering

A transition function for estimating the Fresnel reflection coefficient over the active frequency range is proposed based on two-dimensional moment method simulation. It naturally connects two approximations of the Fresnel coefficients R(/spl theta/) and R(/spl theta/sp). In the authors' comparisons, the model predictions by the integral equation model (IEM) with the modified Fresnel reflection coefficient are in excellent agreement with simulated data in angular, frequency and polarization dependence.
