Abstract:

The time is a physical magnitude with a major influence in the advances in our society, so that technologies in areas like science, logistic, telecommunication, trade and security are influenced by it. Therefore, the establishment of reliable time and his subsequent dissemination is critical in our highly connected civilization. In Panama, through the Centro Nacional de Metrologia de Panama, resources are invested in the maintaining of the Time and Frequency National Standards, which are the reference of the magnitudes of time interval and frequency, to making them available to the country for his use. This work shows the latest improvements using, in the best way possible by the laboratory, the available tools to keep and improve our local definition of the Universal Time Coordinated, the UTC(CNMP), and thus increase the confidence using this time as national and regional reference.
