A multidimensional modeling to support architecture dynamic evolution in Internetware

In response to the challenges for application development, deployment, running and maintenance in an open, dynamic, difficult to control for Internet platform, the concept of Internetware came into being. It is a new software architecture, which is flexible to evolution, continuously reactive and adaptive to multiple targets. Software entities form a software web, which is similar to current information web through an on-demand collaboration mechanism. Internetware is able to perceive dynamic changes from internal / external environment, and then do some static adjustment and dynamic evolution according to functional and nonfunctional index to keep a high customer satisfaction. To make Internetware self-adaptive and self-evolving, we already researched in many aspects of software architecture, such as context description, context-aware, internal decision and collaboration evolving. However The current research of Internetware mostly focuses on self-adaption after perceiving changes which occur in the code level in the environment

and we can't get an up-close look at the modeling level. Besides, there is no systemic real-time model and tools to model the whole software lifecycle of Internetware. Therefore, this paper presents a CCO(Components, Connectors, Operations) model which is multi-dimensional modeling for the different stages of whole software lifecycle to model the Internetware and a modeling tool, named CCOtool, to perceive the evolution in real time and present the changes of components and connectors in architecture.
