Ranges of LW broadcasting station

This paper presents some results of theoretical investigations relating to the LW high-power broadcasting station in Poland. To prepare the background for reconstruction of the transmitting antenna it was vital to carry out thorough theoretical analysis of different antenna geometries, a variety of feeding methods (e.g. base-fed, shunt-fed, folded dipole, etc.), new ideas for mast insulation, as well as far-field ranges estimation, and determination of the near-field distribution (radiation hazard-zones). The broadcasting station under reconstruction is going to transmit AM-DCC (dynamic carrier control) signals at frequency 225 kHz of supplied RF-power equal to 1000 kW. To satisfy full coverage of Polish territory by a single station we propose to equip it with the directional transmitting antenna arranged as the two-mast array.
