Research of active short-circuit protection of DC distribution system

Now the AC grid faces many problems such as the accesses of distributed generations, various loads and the users' higher demand of power reliability. With the development and wide application of the power electronic technology DC distribution system will become a part of future power grid to solve the problems of AC grid. The structure of DC distribution system is presented in this paper. The design idea of active short-circuit protection is proposed and the protection device is designed and developed. Experimental results show that the active short-circuit protection is applicable to DC distribution system.
