Numerical study on fast filling of high pressure hydrogen for fuel cell vehicles

Based on the study of temperature rise during the fast filling of fuel cell vehicles, a new structure of injection nozzle was studied in this paper and the influence of temperature distribution and rise within hydrogen tank was investigated. 2-dimensional models of the type 3, 74L hydrogen tank were established. The simulation was based on the modified standard k-e turbulence model and a real gas equation of state for the evaluation of hydrogen properties was considered. Results show that the new nozzle can improve the temperature distribution and its rise during the refilling process greatly.
