Split ring EM field response towards modified triangular and tapered edge tip within a WR159 waveguide

This paper investigates the effect of bringing together a triangular tip edge and tapered tip edge at the longest arm split gap of a circular split ring and its effect towards the electric and magnetic field. Conducted using tetrahedral mesh type frequency based numerical simulation by modeling the behavior of the circular rings located centered wise in a standard WR159 waveguide in comparison to the conventional circular split ring resonators. The less electrical field sensitivity of the conventional circular split ring had been strengthened from 5.19e

V/m and magnetic field sensitivity from 149 A/m to 218 A/m with a 3.27 % increase while retaining the operating frequency well at 5.9 GHz. The properties of this resonance response could be used to design numerous novel C-Band metamaterials applications.
