A CMOS-CCD video delay line is widely used in consumer video systems as a comb filter, a drop-out compensator, etc.1.2 The CCD delay line must provide a high-quality video image through high frequency response, low distortion, and low variation of gain over a wide temperature range. However, the signal dynamic range in a conventional device is under 500m V, not enough for more advanced video systems. This 5V CCD video delay line using a switched-capacitor integrator (SCI) as a charge-detection amplifier meets these needs by processing a 14.3MHz lVp-p video signal with under 1% distortion.
