A new voltage type magnetically coupled T-source inverter

This paper proposes a new impedance-source inverter named as magnetically coupled T-source inverters (MTSI). The proposed circuit employs a three-winding coupled transformer and a capacitor formed in T-shape to produce a higher voltage gain in comparison with the traditional Z-source inverter (ZSI), Trans-Z-source inverter (trans-ZSI) and Z-source inverters (ZSI). While maintaining the main features of the previously presented impedance-source network, the new network exhibits an unique characteristic, that is its voltage gain can be raised not only by decreasing the first turn ratio α

of the coupled transformer. Simulation results are conducted to validate the analysis.
