How to create emotional and/or altered voice quality. An acoustic comparison between habitual and altered voice of the same speaker

This student paper is the result of preliminary studies on the topic of different ways of voice alteration and their analysis. It is based on the author's experience derived from applying for voice acting roles of various characters, as well as author's study and observation of his own voice and voices of his colleagues in the voice-over industry. First the author will supply a necessary theoretical background, then he follows with a number of observations on how the use of certain vocal techniques can produce different effects perceived by the recipients. The paper is concluded with a basic analysis of five examples of different voices created by the author.
