IR sensor for gas turbine inlet temperature (TIT) measurements: Preliminary results on a test rig

The paper describes a non-intrusive pyrometric technique for the measurement of the gas turbine inlet temperature (TIT). The proposed technique relies on the detection of the radiation emitted in a narrow wavelength band by the CO
₂
molecules present in the combustion gas. Preliminary results relevant to tests carried out on a test rig will be presented.
