Coherent stitching of light in femtosecond laser formed multi-layered volume gratings

We propose and demonstrate a novel method for improving diffraction efficiency through strategic arrangement of multilayered weak phase gratings to coincide with Talbot planes. Multilayered volume gratings were written inside fused silica with femtosecond lasers.
