Development Of Dv 1394 Digital Interface Software

Convergence of PCs and consumer electronic equipment has been frequently mentioned in the last few years. The emergence of 1394 provides the ability to connect digital AN equipment to the PC for applications such as image capturing and video editing. One of the first A/V devices to support 1394 is the DV camcorder. In this paper, the software that was developed to support a 1394 interface for capturing and transmission of DV on the PC will be described, as well as the development issues and solutions discovered in the process.
