A Universal Cable Channel Mapping Approach

The CEMA Engineering Subcommittee R-4.3 has created a system for Cable Channel Mapping, documented in the standard EIA- 745 and Recommended Practice document CEB2 This system allows a cable television receiving device, such as a cable-ready television receiver or cable set-top box, the capability to determine which cable channels are selectable, and when necessary, re-map these user selectable channels to their tunable channel number.
