MeTaDoR: Online Resource and Prediction Server for Membrane Targeting Peripheral Proteins

This chapter describes the navigation through membrane targeting domains resource (MeTaDoR) to demonstrate how the resource could be used to obtain various types of information about membrane targeting domains (MTDs). MeTaDoR integrates all the essential information about MTDs at a publicly available platform. Included are sequences, structures, membrane binding modes of MTDs, manually curated classification of proteins into membrane binding/nonbinding and a search function. It also provides two more services beyond the standard collection of data: (i) molecular dynamics resources, including forcefield parameters of nonstandard lipids that are necessary for the molecular dynamics-based studies; and (ii) an online prediction server for MTD identification. MeTaDoR has been and will be updated regularly so as to include new information about MTDs.
