Few-mode fiber optical parametric amplifier

A few-mode fiber with a central depressed index region is designed for few-mode fiber parametric amplification. Such a design allows the zero dispersion wavelengths of both the LP

modes shifted to the center of the C band. High gain and large bandwidth parametric amplification is demonstrate for both the LP
₀₁
and the LP
₁₁
modes in a single fiber.
