Integrative modeling of the technology management system

Summary form only given. Technology decision making is modeled as taking place within a national (and increasingly global) general technology environment (GTE), which in turn is defined by six general environmental forces and two business/industry forces. Specific combinations of environmental forces together with business/industry forces define the specific technology environments of individual industries. The authors present a systems modeling approach which shows complex causal chains shaping technology opportunities and decisions, and system interfaces where government policy or managerial intervention could be effective.
