Academe's increasing non-technical usage of PCs: Computers can enhance the education of students of all curricula

Currently, there is a virtual PC revolution on the campuses of many universities. Personal computers are increasingly changing the scope of college study. Major universities, including Dartmouth, Drexel, Carnegie-Mellon and Brown, now require incoming freshmen of all curricula to purchase personal computers. It is hoped that this extensive and diversified use of personal computers will add a new dimension to the college education of the 80s and produce computer-literate graduates from all courses of study.
