Requirements for low-voltage aircraft cable

Jay (nonmember; Air Technical Service Command, Wright Field, Dayton, Ohio): The use of any suitable material that meets the performance requirements of the applicable low-voltage aircraft-cable specification is the driving factor for the cable manufacturers. R. E. Hedges brings forth this point in his summary and also covers the majority of the requirements as outlined in specification AN-J-C-48. However, it should be stressed that the use of any suitable material has been an incentive to the cable manufacturers and has given them a wide field to draw from to meet aircraft requirements.
