Parametric oscillation in LiB/sub 3/O/sub 5/ pumped at 0.532 mu m

A report is presented on the parametric oscillation in LiB/sub 3/O/sub 5/ pumped by a frequency-doubled Nd:YAG laser under temperature-tuned type-2 noncritical phase-matching conditions. Although the conversion efficiencies were limited to less than 1% due to the short crystal length available, the data reported are encouraging. They appear to justify further study and development of this device as a narrow-linewidth, broadly tunable solid-state source.<
