MDPSK signal reception using a modified multiple symbol differential detection in the presence of carrier frequency offset

A novel multiple symbol differential detection (MSDD) for M-ary differential phase shift keying (MDPSK) system is proposed in this paper. The symbol error probability and the influence of the varous receiver's parameters on the error probability are analysed in the presence of the carrier frequency offset. The theoretical symbol error probability is derived and compared to the Monte-Carlo simulation results. The analysis shows good agreement between the theoretical and simulation results.
