Experimental characterization of a coherent multi-carrier Tx-Rx system based on Rationally Synchronized Oscillators

In this work, a coherent multi-carrier Tx-Rx system based on Rationally Synchronized Oscillators for indoor localization applications has been presented. The working point of all the oscillators is carefully selected in order to reach optimum performance. The multi-carrier Tx-Rx system has been manufactured and a measurement setup based on the use of a Vector Network Analyzer has been developed to experimentally characterize the transmitter and the whole system. It has been shown that the phase variation suffered by the transmitted signals due to the arbitrary indoor propagation channel can be determined with an error less than 1°.
