Off-track error rate simulation of shingled writing under mechanical track misregistration

Shingle Magnetic Recording is suitable for higher TPI recording due to its writing ability. We calculate the offset error rate of SMR by probabilistic approach. The result shows that the offset error rate of SMR is better than conventional recording, including adjacent track erasure.
