Machine-to-Machine communications as a new revenue source of network operators

This paper discusses the background and current situation of the Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications market, as well as the requirements and features of new network services to be used for M2M applications. It also describes the Wide Area Ubiquitous Network (WAUN) as an example of such a network.
