Inter-channel rate control method for H.264/AVC multi-channel video encoder

This paper describes an inter-channel rate control method for an H.264/AVC multi-channel video encoder. The proposed method makes it possible to encode each video to the same subjective image quality by adaptively changing the encoders' target bit rates in accordance with the characteristics of each video. At BD-bitrate it improves the coding efficiency obtained with constant bit rate coding by about 7.04 %.
