Optimization of Multi-core Interconnection for WCET Analysis in Automotive Application

With the increasing demand for computing power and performance in automotive, multi-core ECUs (Electronic Control Unit) are introduced. And hard real-time embedded systems in automotive require timing analyzability. But multi-core systems are less analyzable as the conflicts may happen between different tasks when they are accessing shared resources. In this paper we propose an adaptive arbitration policy base on crossbar interconnect to provide analyzability for hard real-time task. Moreover we add FIFO in crossbar to improve the non-hard real-time task's performance. The experimental results show that the estimated WCET reduces about 36% while the performance of the only non-hard real-time tasks increases about 15%.
